Yankees - Yankees 7, Phillies 4 Game 4 FINAL

10 wins down, 1 more win to go! The New York Yankees are only 1 win away from winning their 27th World Series Championship. The Yankees led almost all of Game 4 until the 8th inning when Joba Chamberlain gave up a 2 out, game-tying solo home run to make it a 4-4 game. In the 9th, Hideki Matsui and Derek Jeter became the first two outs for Brad Lidge as it looked like he was going to have a 1-2-3 inning. However, Johnny Damon put on a great at bat and was behind in the count and fouled off some tough pitches before sending a pitch to left field for a single. With Teixeira up, Damon stole 2nd and made a heads up play by realizing no one was covering 3rd base because of the shift and also taking 3rd. Mark Teixeira would then get hit by a pitch and that would bring up A-rod. Alex Rodriguez would get another clutch hit (biggest hit of his entire career) as he launched a go ahead (and eventually the game winning hit) double to left field which brought in Damon to give the Yankees a 5-4 lead. Next batter was Jorge Posada, who would give the Yankees 2 insurance runs by getting a base hit to left center field. Mariano Rivera would come in and record a quick 3 outs. The Yankees win 7-4.

Sabathia was strong (6.2 innings pitched, 3 runs allowed, 7 hits, 3 walks and 6 strikeouts) but he did not pick up the win. Joba Chamberlain was credited with the win.
For the Phillies, Joe Blanton pitched a decent game (6 innings pitched, 4 runs allowed, 5 hits, 2 walks and 7 strikeouts) and received a no decision. Brad Lidge (1 inning pitched, 3 runs allowed on 3 hits, 1 strikeout) was charged with the loss.

Notes: A-rod is having a very nice post season. He is sporting a .348 AVG, with 6 home runs, 15 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
