For the 9th time in 19 games, the New York Islanders take another contest into OT. Going into the game they were 2-6 in OT. They left 3-6. Kyle Okposo ended the game and gave the Islanders a 4-3 win over the slumping Hurricanes. He intercepted a puck in the offensive zone, headed towards the net, made some moves and took a gorgeous shot that found the back of the net. The Islanders entered Friday the 13th with a record of 6-6-6, but fortunately luck was on their side and they leave Carolina with a 7-6-6 (20 points) record.
Next game: Islandes travel to Florida to take on the Panthers tomorrow at 7pm.
