Yankees - 50th comeback win, 15th walk off win

This magical season continues. It seems that anyone in the Yankees lineup 1-9 (including bench and minor league players) are a huge threat in the 9th inning or later at home. Triple-A player, Juan Miranda, became a walk-off hero last night with his game winning infield single. It was the Yankees 15th walk-off win of the year and their major league leading 50th come from behind win. Besides pitching every 5th day, AJ Burnett has been busy delivering pies to Yankee faces this year.

After a one year absence, the New York Yankees return to the post-season. With the Texas loss to Oakland last night, the Yankees have officially clinched a playoff berth. Since the Yankees beat the Angels and Zack Greinke dominated the Red Sox last night, the Yankees magic number to clinch the American League East Division title is now 6.

Islanders - Pre-Season game tonight vs Devils at Coliseum

The Islanders are back at the Coliseum tonight as they take on the New Jersey Devils for their first and only pre-season game of the year at the old barn. The Islanders first overall draft pick, John Tavares, will make his Coliseum debut tonight.

Islanders - Tension at hearing yesterday

The Town of Hempstead has not said it but, they are strongly against the Lighthouse project. Why? I have no idea. For a project that will bring thousands of jobs and bring in tons of revenue, it's tough to see why anyone would be against this project. If they don't approve this project and the Islanders do move, the Coliseum would be just left to rot. There is no organized opposition really and about 95% are for the project to get passed. All the Town of Hempstead did at the hearing was ask the same questions that they've already got the answers to. I give a lot of credit to Mr.Wang for showing such patience after all this time and BS. I'm shocked he's still optimistic and hasn't called it quits yet. The Town of Hempstead needs to wake up and approve the project because there really isn't one valid reason why it shouldn't get approved.
